Our Lady J

Our Lady J is a musician and writer known for her visionary gospel stylings and powerhouse pianist skills. In 2013, she released her first studio album “Picture Of A Man” to critical acclaim and since then has delivered her new testament of post-religious gospel music to sold-out crowds around the world. OUT Magazine has named Our Lady J as one of their “Out 100,” and the Huffington Post honors her on their list of “transgender icons.” She is now a writer on the Golden Globe and Emmy Award winning television show, Transparent.

Our Lady J is collaborated with Sia Furler, Lady Gaga, Cyndi Lauper, Debbie Harry, Scissor Sisters, Justin Tranter, and Broadway stars including Chita Rivera, Christine Ebersole, Justin Vivian Bond, Michael Arden and Andy Mientus. She has performed in the world’s most prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall, Town Hall, Radio City Music Hall, Hollywood Palladium, Alice Tulley Hall at Lincoln Center, and the legendary CBGB’s. As a classical pianist, she has worked with American Ballet Theatre, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, The Royal Danish Ballet, Los Angeles Ballet, and the Mark Morris Dance Group.

Mia “Tu Mutch” Satya

Mia “Tu Mutch” Satya is a trailblazing community organizer with over a decade of advocacy experience specializing in youth empowerment, economic justice, affordable housing, and LGBTQ+ liberation. Mia has served on over 10 committees in 5 City agencies, including the Youth Commission, and played key roles in the reauthorizing the Children’s fund which now provides over $150 million a year in services for youth. Commissioner Tu Mutch worked to secure free Muni for 40,000 low-income youth and co-created a landmark LGBTQ+ diversity training for over 9,000 City employees. Mia appeared in the Vanguard LGBTQ History tour that shared the Tenderloin’s rich history of trans activism with churches and community centers around the U.S. Now as the Director of Transitional Age Youth San Francisco, Mia holds elected officials accountable to the needs of youth who have faced substantial institutional and personal barriers that prevent them from comfortably transitioning to adulthood. Ms. Satya is the first transsexual to be selected to participate in Emerge California, the premiere political training program for women and she recently launched All Out: the LGBTQ+ Political Pipeline to inspire, educate, and connect youth to create change.

Shawn Demmons

Shawn Demmons is a queer African American transman committed to social and racial justice. Shawn is engaged in community activism aimed to improve the lives of those most marginalized in our society. He has organized and participated in numerous community events in an effort to increase public education and awareness about issues such as access to health care inside California’s prisons, linkage to care for newly diagnosed HIV positive individuals in low-income communities, and the social, political, and economic marginalization of transgender persons. Shawn currently serves as the Chair of the Board Directors for the Transgender Law Center and is the Community Engagement Manager for Black Brothers Esteem, a program of the San Francisco AIDS Foundation (SFAF) that utilizes community engagement to improve HIV-related health outcomes among gay, bisexual, same-gender-loving, gender-variant, and transgender individuals of African descent. Shawn has an undergraduate degree in BlackStudies and a Masters in Public Health from San Francisco State University.

Lexi Adsit

Lexi Adsit has been actively leading within social justice movements for the past 9 years, previously working at organizations such as El/La Para TransLatinas, Asian & Pacific Islander Wellness Center, Peacock Rebellion and more. She also played a key role in the creation of the International Trans Women of Color Network Gathering, produced Brouhaha: Trans Women of Color Comedy-Based Storytelling, and founded the Queer Yo Mind Conference. Her writings have been featured on Autostraddle “24 Actions You NEED To Take To Help Trans Women of Color Survive” and Salon “Stonewall is in Our Blood”.  As a survivor of violence, Lexi aspires to create a world without systems that target and criminalize Trans Women of Color for being authentic.
